At EBY, we strive to be a teen led- student ministry. As often as we can, we want the teens to learn to lead worship, lead prayers, and direct our thoughts. BUT, we want teens to lead, not just lead “in front.”

We want them to lead in their lives as an example for the world to see. Not so that they can pat themselves on the back, gaining the respect and admiration of the masses, but so that when someone is at the end of their rope, they will be a hand to reach out for them.

God calls us to be Christ’s ambassadors.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 tells us…
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
As new creations, let us be a light in the dark places. Let us reach out to the hurting. The lost. The hungry. The broken. The scared. The abandoned. If we truly CHOOSE joy as we are called to do, we will feel a passion and desire to share it.
The status of being an “ambassador” is why our focus for EBY is giving teens as many opportunities to lead as possible. We want them to be seasoned vets at helping others through service projects. We want them to be prepared for life after youth group.
